Event Details

America the Beautiful For All — Wednesday, October 19, 7-8:30 pm: Join Mariana Del Valle Prieto Cervantes, Director of Strategic Initiatives at GreenLatinos, to learn about this powerful new coalition that reflects the diversity of America and centers the voices of people of color working to conserve 30% of our public lands, waters, and ocean by 2030. The political power necessary to accomplish the twin goals of conservation and environmental justice rests entirely on our ability to shift power, grow, and cultivate a united environmental community that truly represents America. We are stronger and more effective when we work together.

The America the Beautiful for All Coalition‘s Twin Goals:

  • Conserve at least 30% of land, water, and ocean by 2030 to avoid massive species loss, secure equitable access to nature’s benefits, and prevent and repair the impacts of the climate crisis for all communities.
  • Implement a Justice40 metric for the America the Beautiful Initiative to ensure at least 40% of investments are made in communities of color and frontline communities that have historically seen little to no investment in conservation and equitable access to nature.

VIRTUAL. Tickets $10-$15. Email eliza.cava@anshome.org for complimentary tickets if needed.

About Mariana Del Valle Prieto Cervantes: Mariana has committed her life to help advocate for the Latinx community in the environmental movement. A proud immigrant from México and raised in California’s central coast, and a mother of two, Mariana obtained her degree as a first generation student in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Sustainable Communities.

Previously, she started her career near the ocean at a local aquarium where she gained experience in public education and community engagement, creating and implementing bilingual blended programs and serving the community. Mariana comes with experience working with local government and policy action campaigns at the local, state, and national level that provide her with a unique understanding of environmental policy and the need for the community to be engaged.

At GreenLatinos Mariana focuses on strategic planning for GreenLatinos organizational initiatives, water equity, ocean conservation and coastal access priorities at the national level. With these policy priorities in mind, Mariana works to positively impact change for clean, healthy and affordable water and ocean protections, with our comunidades in mind.
