Join ANS Senior Naturalist, Stephanie Mason, and ride the ANS Butterfly Bus along the route of Louis Halle's iconic book, Spring in Washington, visiting several spots from Halle's bike route along the way.

Meet at Woodend for coffee and bagels before we board the Butterfly Bus and follow Halle's tour of the springtime blossoming of nature in our nation's capital. We will also enjoy a picnic-style champagne brunch with mimosas and birding.

Fundraising event in support of ANS Programs. Spaces are limited. Ticket price includes the guided bus tour, breakfast, picnic-style champagne brunch, and a copy of the book Spring in Washington mailed to you before the event. The non-deductible portion of each ticket is $35.

"In the year the atomic age was born a young man on a bicycle appointed himself monitor of spring in the nation's capital. Starting before sun-up each morning, he pedaled miles and saw much before his workday began at the offices of the State Department. That the year was 1945 is of no importance, for the events he chronicled could have taken place in 1845 or 2015. The rites of spring are eternal. " - from the foreword by Roger Tory Peterson
